Paint crews are often exposed to paint because of the nature of their work. Paints and paint thinners are toxic solvents that cannot be handled without personal protective equipment.

Common chemical components in paint include benzene, sodium hydroxide, mineral oil, 1, 4-dioxane and so on. Benzene organic compounds are highly toxic solvents, which can enter the human body through respiratory tract and skin, causing damage to the nervous system and hematopoietic tissue, resulting in a decrease in the count of white blood cells and platelets in the blood, and long-term exposure can lead to leukemia. Sodium hydroxide is corrosive and can cause damage to deep skin tissue over time. Mineral oils can irritate and burn the skin. 1, 4-dioxane is a carcinogen and can be a strong skin irritant.

In order to prevent these chemicals harm health, paint workers should do a good job of body protection.

First, respiratory protection

When painting, choose the right gas supply mask or gas mask, and should work in a ventilated environment.

Second, hand protection

Gloves should be chosen with a degree of chemical resistance and should maintain hand flexibility. Industrial nitrile gloves block specific chemicals in paint solvents and are a good choice for handling these substances.

For example, the coating thinner contains a mixture of toluene and hydrogenated naphtha at about 40-50%, which is just within the range of nitrile gloves, according to the meteorological chromatography-electronic values (indicators).

If the paint contains butanone (belong to nitrile intolerance substance), it should be thickened durable, and as far as possible to shorten the use of time.
